the best red tea I've been tasted so far
I wanted to buy some Chinese tea that is above the average quality of tea from a local store, or the ones we usually drink at restaurants. After surfing amazon and doing some research, I found the Zheng Shan Tang brand which I haven't tried before. The Zheng Shan Tang store has 10 plus different teas, mostly red tea. At first I bought 4 of them since I wanted to compare the flavors. This one, Jin Jun Mei, is the most expensive one. However, one will never regret of buying it right after the first brew. The slim and tender leaves expanding softly when steeping. The color of the tea is pure, superb gold. It smells of natural tea leaves, tastes like a blend of nectar sweetness and normal "tea" as soon as it touches your togue.somethings to mention:1. ideal brewing temperature 96C / 205 F based on my own experience. This is a few degrees below the textbook red tea brewing temperature, because the leaves are very tender, they come from the best part of a tea tree.2. put 5g tea in a tea pot with volume 150ml, brew 8 to 10 times for the best tasting result.3. people usually do not sip the 1st brew, instead they use the tea soup to soak and warm the tea pot & cups, but for this one there's no need to waste.4. Steeping 8 sec for 1st round, then 15 sec for 2-4th round, then 20 sec...and so on...each round adds up a little more time to get consistent color, flavor and aroma.金骏眉:叶片细卷,有浓郁的花叶香,茶汤金黄发亮甘甜。注意:冲泡无需太高温度,比一般红茶低,比绿茶高为佳。

Worth the cost
You really need to love tea to pay this price but if you have had other jin jun mei you'd know there is no comparison. This jin jun mei tea is the most fragrant, consistent and flavorful I have ever tried. Multiple steeps in and the taste holds true and even gets better. I have been on a tea journey for the last 24yrs of my life and I can truly tell you this is something special. Worth the money and the experience, but once you try it there's no going back!!
