The product is same as shown. I have tried it. It works best on short hairs. The pain is much less with short hairs as compared to long hairs. So I would prefer to use it when your hairs are 1 to 2 inches long. It will work best and will not take time on short hairs. Also i have used it for my private areas and it was good like i felt that i have invested in something handy and quick. Although I haven’t use epilator for my bikini area but the trimmer and shaver head worked perfect. But BEWARE, please tight your skin while using trimmer and shaver head otherwise you will get a cut. I have experienced it. And Also it takes 2 to 3 days for me to feel perfectly irritation free from my bikini area. It’s recommended from my side if you can bear pain and want something fast and mess free.

Reliable model
I bought this epilator to replace my old Braun Silk-épil 5 Power 5780 purchased about 10 years ago. It was basically the same epilator but with additional accessories.I was hoping that in 10 years the silk epil 5 would have improved in terms of noise or pain level. It hasn't really but this is not an issue for me. The noise level is standard and the epilator is not really painful. I've been using an epilator for 25 years so I'm not so sensitive anymore. The additional caps that I got with my original silk epil do fit the epilator head of this silk epil 5 model, which is great as this model has very limited accessories.I don't think I'll have any use for the bikini shaver at I use the epilator head and the shaver head for my bikini line.People have commented on the plug. From my experience epilators come with a shaver plug which you can't connect to a normal socket in any country. You can only plug it in the special bathroom sockets... Or use a shaver adaptor. So nothing weird with this epilator. I've always used an adaptor. The length of the cord is definitely shorter than it used to be. My old cord was 227cm long whereas the new cord is only 124cm long. 1m difference is a big change, but I've personally always used an extension lead so the shorter cord is not an issue for me.I considered going for a wireless epilator this time but though that a corded one would be more powerful, more reliable as you don't need to remember to charge it or worry that it will die before you're finished. Also I was concerned that I may need to change the epilator earlier due to the battery alone.Overall I'm happy with this purchase. The epilator does pick up extremely short hairs as well as longer ones. It's very efficient so that you don't need to go over the same area twice. I did a full leg (including thigh) in 7min (I'm 1m62), which I consider to be a quick time.

Best to be prepared - Nifty device
Hey everyone 👋So I thought I'd come and share my personal experience.I want to preface this by saying I have never waxed, have very thick leg hairs due to a hormonal imbalance, and am unable to soak in the tub before I epilate due to a skin condition. So I did go into this expecting pain, but I didn't expect what I got.This. Hurt. I exfoliated two days prior and epilated while showering, and it hurt. A lot. It took me several goes just to be able to hold the epilator to my skin without flinching and wincing when it caught a hair, and even so I just had to stop before I could finish both legs. But this hasn't put me off.Even after this first session my legs are smoother then shaving ever got them, and I know that eventually the pain will ease. I just want other women who suffer PCOS or other conditions that make them darn legs hairs a thick as a mans stubble and as stubborn as a tree root that this is going to hurt. The light was a life saver for behind my knees and the handy dandy shaver ensured I had the correct length hair (bonus for me as I hadn't shaved for a while).I did however struggle a little to hold the device once it got water on it, it slipped out of my grip on one occasion. That's the only fault I had.

Packaging is finnicky but it works as described
Got this as a gift and can certainly say the most frustrating part of it was the packaging, the top has a lined cutout which you would think is where it opens, well you are wrong, it opens on the side from bottom up with a simple tab.Its about the same noise level compared to an older model that is on its end of life. The extra parts are a plus though I know will not be used as much, its a usual set it once and forget and use. The additional small trimmer is a great touch though.

Lost patience…does not work and is painful
I have had this epilator now for a year but have now lost patience. I have used an epilator for over 15 years but this one just doesn’t work and is painful to use. It doesn’t grab the hair but grabs my skin so I end up with red under arms but half the hair still there. I then end up shaving the rest off as my armpits are too sensitive to try and get the rest out. Part of the problem is the cord is way too short which is not reaching far enough for me to stand in front of a mirror to epilate without having to use an extension cord…just another hassle. I tried to persist for a year as it wasn’t cheap but have to give in to buying a new epilator. My previous epilator worked really well for over 10 years!

Solid feel
Have been using a cheap epilator, thus is the real deal. Out of the box it feels solid. Once charged it zips through the fine hair and us very effective. Being a Braun, you can buy a new head and they will even fit a new battery at a service centre. It's so effective you will need cold-cream, or any moisturiser!
