Works for me
I was having problems with my toenails becoming ingrown, hurt really bad, could hardly walk. Had to go to the doctor 3 times so they could cut them out on both feet. I remember reading some bad reviews about this product, but I decided to try these little plastics out anyway since I didn't see anything else for sale to help with this problem. Maybe some people have some weird or huge toenails or something idk. I'm a big dude with big feet and these helped get my toe nails growing right again. It might help, and this might actually be key to fixing the nails, that I did go to the doctor first and they cut the ingrown toenail at an angle from the tip all the way back to where it grows from. They cut it and I just waited a few months for the nail to grow back, specifically the part of the nail that becomes ingrown, before it reached the skin part of your toe where it digs into I stuck the little piece of plastic in there so that the nail would definitely grow above that piece of skin and not dig into it. You want to guide it up basically. This takes a while. I forget exactly how long, at least a month I think. When inserting the plastic make sure the toe nail goes into the slit on the plastic. I pushed it in fairly deep to make sure it didn't move and stayed in place, to the point it hurt a bit when i pushed it in. I trimmed the plastic at the tip so it wouldn't be sticking out too much. To help it stay in place, if it's too lose, which I think it was since the nail hasn't grown out all the way yet, at first I used liquid bandage so it would stay in place. Just spread it all over the little plastic. Then after a week or so I think it the liquid bandage dried and fell off and I used some gauze tape or a bandaid so the plastic would stay in place and would guide the nail up. You can try both at the same time maybe. This worked for me. I've been free of ingrown toe nail problems for around 9 months now. Hope this makes sense and helps someone that is suffering from ingrown toenail problems and pain like I was. Good luck!!

Didn't work as expected
I could not get this under my toenail. It seemed to be to thick. When I tried to trim down to size, it came out from the edge of the nail (as it wouldn't go very far). So, I tried to trim prior to placing and then I couldn't hold onto it to put into place.

Works for me, a few things to keep in mind
There are a few things to keep in mind for these strips, at least as far as I've noticed:1- You need a little space between nail and skin. Give yourself an opportunity to see how far down the side of the nail a nail lifter tool can go or make sure when you clean your nails that you gently massage and get into that groove so the strip actually has room to slip into.2- If you have significant curling of your nails this will probably not be enough. A little pressure and just need a little padding to keep the nail away from the skin, it should do the trick. Currently I'm using the strips on my big toe nail as padding and support while also using a wire nail corrector that I already know helps straighten the nail so it can realign as it grows. https://www.amazon.com/Corrector-Pedicure-Treatment-Toenail-Correction/dp/B07G14QF27/ref=sr_1_8?crid=3J7AL98FAFG0Z&keywords=ingrown+nail+brace&qid=1699034175&sprefix=ingrown+nail+br%2Caps%2C118&sr=8-83- Consider a little bit of trasparente nail polish (couple of layers may be needed). This can help the strip(s) stay in place, since polish can reduce breathability of the nail do your best to have it be partial coverage.Additional tip: these or the wire correctors partially lift the nail. On the one hand it may look like you have a fungus infection because more air can get under the nail and make it look a different color, but there is a possibility more humidity gets under the nail and an actual infection can happen. Vicks vaporub is a good way to preven and even treat some nail fungus infections, for general prevention you can rub a little on and around the nail daily while using such tools.

DONT WORK
I thought this would work but it did not but what it did do was leave space between my nails, so water was going in there and I got fungus so my advice to you would be to go about it another way and just cut your nails straight across until it grows out
