Awesome Henna
Worked really well to get my hair a beautiful deep fiery orange. Used to using Lush's henna blocks, getting it in powder form is easier to use.. however, Lush's henna does leave your hair smelling much better. This henna has my hair smelling like a dirty drain every time I get my hair wet. Maybe that's just a normal scent for "pure" henna? Either way, as long as you use some sort of perfume via a hair product, or bodily perfume/cologne, you wont notice the smell. Also, here is a henna preparation and application guide.-Measure out your Henna into a *GLASS* container (it will stain other containers, and metal isn't good w/ henna). I have short hair, and weighed out 50grams of henna. It was more than enough. I'd guess about 100grams for shoulder length hair, 150grams for chest length hair, etc.-Next, you want to SLOWLY add some really warm/hot (120°f MAX) water, which is about the temp water comes out of your sink at full heat, use a thermometer to double check, though.-Stir the mixture as you go to eliminate most clumps and check the consistency.-Once you have added enough water and stirred to make a thick, creamy paste (think yogurt or toothpaste consistency), you want to cover the mix with plastic wrap; you can keep it held on securely with a rubber band.-Let the mixture sit for at least an hour before using.-After an hour or so, you will notice the mixture has become very reddish brown. That's the released dye, you are ready to apply!-Use gloves, wear a towel/cape, apply Vaseline around hairline to prevent skin stains, have paper towels/etc on hand to wipe up spills before they stain, and stand somewhere you can either clean up easily (shower/tub/etc), or apply outside.-Once your hair is fully soaked with the henna mix, you'll want to wipe as much as possible off any parts of your skin on your face you don't want to turn orange.-Then wrap your hair in plastic wrap as well as you can, making sure to cover all parts to lock in moisture and heat (these two things are essential for a good dying process!).-I would also toss on a plastic shopping bag on top of all the plastic wrap to make sure everything stays contained.-Keep henna on your hair for 2 hours+, I usually place a big black towel down over my pillow/ sleeping area, and just go to sleep looking like a mummy. I find that keeping it on my hair for ~8hrs gives me best results.-Once you're done letting it sit in your hair, go shower/ wash it off! DO NOT SHAMPOO. USE CONDITIONER TO HELP LOOSEN IT FROM YOUR HAIR. Be gentle, so you don't fling henna bits all over your shower, less to clean later!-Enjoy your new hair!

Game changer!!!
Too bad I didn’t take a before pictures. I can never do chemical dye products due to severe reactions. My scalp turns hot pink and burns.I thought I could never dye my white hairs and just live with grandma hair. But oh boy!!! This henna product and matching indigo powder mix changed my look dramatically. I have medium brown hair color, and henna:indigo, 3:1 ratio was perfect mix for my hair color. The longer you leave the mixture in room temp the better. Color gets deeper and works better. I first used the one I mixed night before, and I found some missing spot, so I used them again one day after, color came out even better. And no reaction whatsoever yet, and hair didn’t get damaged at all. Perfectly satisfied😍

Messy
Does a good job coloring the hair but very messy. Wear gloves, henna stains the skin.

Not sure yet
I will revise this review next month when I do it again.I have used Henna exclusively now for several years. it's normally bright "orange" with coppery highlights (greys) and then tones down into a soft dark auburn. I adore the sheen and color henna gives me. My usual brand was out so I tried this one. First off the directions were so vague and contradictory to every henna I ever used. Most henna requires warm to hot water, stir till smooth. Cover and let it dye release warm spot. Test after several hours and don't let it sit for too long or it will expire. If the dye is released, place on clean hair. Keep hair damp and covered so henna will stain your keratin. Or whatever that is called. The directions said cool to lukewarm water. Leave to release in a cool spot and leave for "very long". Then put on hair and let it DRY. Omigosh, what? I never have seen any hair henna state to leave it to dry on hair. Maybe I am wrong and the few I have tried just never suggested that.So I did most of the directions with the exception of letting it dry. I have waist-length hair and that would be a nightmare to cleanout. I just rinsed it off now and it barely gave color to my hair. I did give it 3 stars as it did make my greys copper. And that picture was taken as soon as my bangs were dry from rinsing the henna. Normally they are a really vibrant orangey red color till it oxides. I will give this one more try next month and see how it goes.
