I was so looking forward to receiving this book, and when it arrived it did not disappoint. The book is packed with Welsh monsters and mythical beasts, and the artwork is superb, and even though I have now finished reading the book, I am still flicking through the pages to look again at the fantastic artwork. I'd give this book 11 out of 10, if it were possible. If you are interested in the subject, or simply curious about the mystical past of ancient Britain/Briton, this book is certainly worth purchasing, it is a work of art and information. I love it.

I can highly recommend this book if you love Wales, illustration, or myths.Ellis brings life to every story within this beautiful book which leaves you transfixed and pouring over every detail. Also It's a very high quality print, with full vibrant colour, and a pronunciation guide (which I found particularly useful), and every page leaves you wanting more.A true five star book

I have yet to read it and I have only gotten to flip through it. Based on pictures alone I would get this book for my family members. When I was young I wasn’t allowed to talk about any of them for fear of invoking evil. So you live in fear of ideas you don’t understand. Just because you don’t know about something or someone does not mean they don’t know you. I treasure getting to share this heritage with my young family members. The joke when I was younger is that our society at large does not have a “culture” the way tribal societies do. Proud former owner of many distributed copies. A Librarian told me once that when a book does not come back she has to request to purchase another copy and you know a book is good when it not on the shelf. So based on that logic, the book in question is a good book.

This book is beautiful. The pronunciation guides are excellent. The author includes history for many creatures including their regional variations and changes related to the adoption of Christianity.

A beautifully illustrated tribute to the unique monsters and mythical beings of Welsh folklore. I collect books of myth and folklore from around the world and find ones on Wales specifically pretty scarce, so I was happy to find one dedicated to arguably the most overlooked nation in the United Kingdom. The author and artist of the book are both Welsh, lending an authentic cherry on top.

I'd been coveting this book on a crowdfunding site for the longest time - literally years, but the ordering window had closed and there was no where I could find to buy it. When it popped up on amazon I immediately pre-ordered and have been anxiously awaiting it. The wait was well worth it. It's absolutely beautiful with "off the beaten path" mythological beasts and creatures from Welsh mythology. The artists does a wonderful job of illustrating them each in a captivating way. You can feel the magic coming off the pages. :) Each beastie has it's own paragraph describing the lore behind them. I absolutely love this book!
