These are pretty good quality judging at least in person. Lots of surface area, the exact length described. My notes are this though. Some of the blocks had a bend to them. Not bad but just a note. Also, they were quite crumbly. I had to cut them in half to fit my sump just right, and I did that with a kitchen knife (all I had on me at the time). So I'd be a little careful with them since they tended to make crumb if you handle them too hard. Otherwise these feel like top quality.

Don't buy if your canister filter is round, for not so obvious reasons. Rectangle biomedia doesn't fit well in a round canister filter like an FX6 because you'll end up having to break them to make them fit.

I will wait and see how well they hold up! Otherwise, they are what I expected!

I use this foam insert along with the carbon and ammonia filters. Using it alone probably isn't going to do much for your tank but having in the 3 step filter is perfect. My 29gallon tank can go up to 1months without having to change them out. Just be sure to rinse well before using to get off any excess dust from packaging and travel. I love how it clears the water and continues to keep the water clear.

I got these for my husband to use in our new 135 gallon tank. They came well packaged and are larger than I anticipated, but they break apart easily. We were able to fit a few of these (broken apart) into our sump tank and they have worked extremely well. The box of 30 will easily last quite a long time and well worth the money. These helped cycle the new tank much quicker. I highly recommend.

This stuff is quite long and thick, but also easy to break into pieces. It only took 2.5 of them to fill my Cascade 1000 's media basket and that leaves me with... 27.5 more of them! While traditionally used in big sumps, I already found places for them in my Eclipse 20 with top sump, as well as my 3 gallon cube tank with rear sump, which surprisingly swallowed a whole one.This stuff is perfect if you are like me and have multi tank syndrome and need tons of bio media, or if you have a giant tank with large sump and want to get it going. 5 stars.

This stuff is super porous and easy to stack in the sump. It came well packed and all I had to do was rinse and add. What a great deal

Come in well package and great in size, it is easy to break into pieces you would like it to be and so far seems good to me.
