Strong in wind, but probably won't last
I don't often write reviews, but I thought this warranted one. We live in Florida and are on the beach weekly. After having umbrellas fail halfway through the summer we decided we'd pay a little more this year hopefully for an umbrella that would last.First the good: this umbrella stands strong in the wind when others are being turned up or blown down the beach. We've been out on significantly windy days and after burying and packing the base sufficiently I've had no doubt that this umbrella would be fine. However, 3 months into using this umbrella it's already showing signs of impending failure. We've been careful to avoid any contact with saltwater (learned that lesson the hard way) and have always kept this umbrella clean. As I was packing up yesterday I began to notice signs of rust on the rivets that connect the ribs to the supports -notice the pictures and the rust on the rivet head and rust stains on the underside of the umbrella. Additionally I noticed that one of the screws that connects the umbrella to the post has fallen out (3rd picture). The rivets rusting through is the exact way we've had umbrellas fail in the past and seem to be the weakest point. Honestly I was hoping for better. At this point I've coated all the rusted parts with Corrosion-X hoping to stop the rust in its tracks and will have to find a screw to fit the top at the hardware store but I've lost confidence that this umbrella will make it to a second summer.

Windy beach days, not a problem
We go to the beach at least once a week. We live in Southwest Florida. The umbrella is sturdy with thicker splines to support the umbrella covering. It also has predrilled holes on the pole and a snap lock, so you can lower the umbrella to your favorite height. The only thing we don't use is the base, we utilize a metal sand screw as that seems to work better for us. We were at the beach yesterday, steady 20-25 mile an hour winds still from Hurricane Sally, and it stayed in place all day. We have gone through three umbrellas this past year, as the winds will turn them inside out and ruin them. Not happening with this umbrella. Would definitely recommend.

The BEST Beach Umbrella EVER!!!
I was fed up with beach umbrellas that were flimsy and not big enough to provide shade for two people. I'm getting older and cannot chase runaway umbrellas nor yank them from impaled sea gulls. Ok the last part was not true. This umbrella solved all my problems. It is easy to install at any angle for all you early risers and sunset watchers. It stands up to strong winds and provides more than enough shade for two people. All you need is Love and the AMMSUN 8 ft Beach Umbrella, ella, ella.

CUTE but OVERPRICED, CHEAPLY MADE
CUTE but OVERPRICED - CHEAPLY MADE. We decided to invest in 2 good umbrellas. Bought this and another brand. Dug a deep hole with a shovel first and then put umbrella in to be safe and despite it being only a little windy on the beach in Galveston it came up and fell over (only fell over didnt fly through the air) and pole bent! Then we had a *light (not huge thunderstorm) come in and it literally rained through umbrella it was crazy!!! Took pics and video. Our stuff got soaked including us. Our other umbrella did NOT do this so we huddled under that one thank goodness. Maybe we got a defective one I don't know but I'm really disappointed. Feeling very generous with giving 2 stars. Save your money!!

worked well, good value
umbrella worked well, even though it did not have a tilting feature. the sand anchor was a little tough to get deep enough into the sand, but easy fix by using my daughter's plastic beach shovel and digging out a small hole to get me started. only real negative is that u can tell the hollow portion of the pole is living on borrowed time after a few uses, as the sand anchor holding screw put s small dent in the hollow pole. still, it worked well for an entire week at the beach and was very easy to assemble and disassemble. not really designed for heavy wind, but why would you be on the beach in heavy wind anyway? good value, would buy again.
