Jewels That Made History: 100 Stones, Myths, and Legends

Coffee table fluff
Not many of these jewels made history, quite a few just happened to be in the same room as some history. Many having significance only by virtue of being worn by somebody famous at some point, not even at a significant event. Not much in the way of myths and legends either, something of a disappointment for a mythology fan like myself. A few interesting anecdotes from jewellery history. No indexing, so difficult to use as a reference book. No bibliography either. Lacks depth and scholarship.

A nice accompanying text to the V&A Faberge exhibition
I saw this at the V&A and had a chance to flick through it - lovely illustrations and laide out thoughtfully. A bargain online at £10 cheaper than in the museum store.

A book to start exploring
This book is beautiful! With amazing photos and a well written text, is a nice way to start exploring some jewels and its gossip.I am giving 4 stars because I was thinking that this book had more information, I was looking for something more specific to study further into jewelry and the description made me think that I would have a little bit more. Nevertheless, it is a really good book if you want a glimpse of the jewels universe. I recommend the purchase.

Wonderful soundbite history related to jewellery!
The book is a nice compact size with loads of big, bold photos, large print that's easy to read and just enough information to tickle your fancy!!! This is an EXCELLENT book, have just read into the first few pages and I'm looking forward to finishing it :)
