Sound Great
Super nice upgrade for the worn out speakers in my 2009 Subaru Forester, my only complaint is that they don't come with any wiring or terminals for the main speakers. The tweaters do have a super short pigtail attached (5ish inches) but that's it.

AMAZING
These speakers sound AMAZING. I installed these without an amp as I am on a budget and just wanted a sound quality improvement. It took a ton of work as I had to run new wire to the doors for my front speakers which involved about 4 hours of work but it was totally worth it. I have my tweeters set to +2 and running off a Sony head unit with recoil rear speakers. It sounds good enough that I decided against adding a subwoofer and am beyond happy. It thumps enough it actually moved my rear view mirror and shakes my doors. 100% recommend, just research and prepare for getting these installed in your car.

Great sound and bass
After trying many speakers this is what i needed. great sound and bass with out need to go crazy with subs. The best option no only to help sound but to add base in cars that a sub wont fit. Also a way better option than under seat subs as you don't compromise and lose sound

HORRIBLE quality
DON'T BUY. These things are insanely low quality. The glue holding the rubber surround to the basket is very low quality and the rubber came off on two out of 4 speakers. Also, the rubber surround goes right up to the screw hole so when you go to mount them and the screw head catches the rubber, it will stretch it and it will come unglued and/or tear it. They couldn't handle the 48 watts coming from my head unit without distorting. The crossovers are spec'ed to be 12db/oct but they just didn't sound like it. The tweeters were very "shrilly" even at the -2db setting. I ended up using a 1uF capacitor on the tweeters to tone them done and they now sound tolerable. Just overall a huge disappointment.

Very Good Overall, But...
I was completely replacing the audio system in my '98 Chevy Silverado and looking for high-quality sound, but also needing to adhere to specific size requirements. Because I wanted to use the OE factory mounting locations, and retain OE factory appearance, component size was critical. I chose the Recoil REM65 system, because the components were a good fit- I appreciate the inclusion of highly-specific measurements in the product listing....but ALSO because Recoil was one of the very few budget-minded models to include a comprehensive set of specifications for the actual audio capabilities of their speaker system. I truly appreciate that. At this price point, I was skeptical about whether the components would be true to the specs, but my concern was unwarranted. Overall, this is a very good, inexpensive speaker system, and I am impressed. Component quality is quite high, with fit and finish looking very professional. The components come nicely packaged, and fully-understandable instructions are included. Fasteners are provided, for installation of the mid-bass drivers, however spade connectors and wiring is not. The passive crossovers feature a tweeter output jumper, under the cover, allowing for one of three output selections: -2db, reference (no attenuation), or +2db. This setting can be particularly useful, depending on the mounting location of the tweeter in your vehicle... such as using the "+2db" setting if your speakers are low on the door, versus using the "-2db" setting if your tweeters are high on the A-pillar, or in the corners of the dash-directly under the windshield. In my case, the tweeters mount at the mid-line of the door, in a contour line angled at the listener, so the "reference" setting was perfect. As for sound quality, again this speaker system impresses. These speakers are really designed for, and work best as part of a system which has a separate subwoofer. The drivers are rated as, and the included 2-way passive crossovers are attenuated to provide solid mid-base, while delivering good presence, and smooth high frequency output. Together with a properly crossed over sub, this system delivers excellently balanced output with impressive stereo imaging, and no perceptable frequency roll-off. These speakers sound clear, natural, and well-balanced... they are very musical across a wide variety of musical styles from jazz, to pop, to electronic, to rock. This system is very pleasant to listen to, especiallyduring extended drives- there is no listener fatigue, caused by excessive brashness, or over-accentuated sibilance. Equally important, the component materials seem very durable, and I expect these speakers to last for quite some time. Power ratings are true, as well... these 50-watt per channel speakers play distortion-free up through the full-power output of the 30-watt per channel amp I am using to drive them. So, at this point you're asking why I only rated these speakers as "3-star"? Customer service is where this product falls short. After I installed and tested my new speaker system, I noted a slight difference in the midrange (presence) of one channel (in my install, the right side) versus, the other. After rechecking all my connections, and swapping components from side to side, I finally determined that one of the passive crossovers was the culprit, causing excessive midrange attention. So, I followed the provided instructions, writing a detailed email message to Recoil customer support, and.... after three weeks, have heard NOTHING. I have re-sent my message twice, with no reply. I would be happy to purchase the replacement crossover component, but no-one ever even responded to my request for assistance. This is a major disappointment, which prevents me from recommending this product. That saddens me, because this really is an excellent speaker system, and I'm pretty sure I just got a "one in a million" defective component- a situation which could, and SHOULD be easily remedied... if only there was someone at the customer service department.
