Classic beauty meets contemporary tech.
This is a beautiful product! I was a little disappointed that I had to use my dremel to hollow out two small spots on the back so the bracket was completely flush against the wall, but other than that, it's really awesome!My house was built in the 1940's, so this really fits all the original hard wood.It looks great and gives my nest a warm and classic, retro meets contemporary look that it could never have on it's own.I read these reviews that say it's overpriced. No one is forcing you to buy it. But if you're going to spend the money on a nest, it doesn't hurt to drop a little extra on a quality product like this.I paid $50 (now it's $45) and I'm glad I did!

Custom Stained Plate
Initially I ordered golden oak, thinking it had a lot of 'red' in it.Boy . . . was i wrong! Golden oak is a mix of champagne gold and dull brown. Really unattractive.So i returned mine in exchange for an unfinished plate.I've never stained anything in my life, but thanks to a 15 minute Youtube video, I'm now a master.I took my time (Two and a half days).I think it turned out pretty good.

Love!
I really like this wall plate. I searched everywhere for something to blend in with a more natural and traditional decor. I am staining the wood like I saw another reviewer do and even though I'm a first timer, it's been really easy to do. I will post a picture as soon as the wood is dry and the Nest is installed. The price didn't bother me because I couldn't find anything else like this and I looked for quite a while.

Great addition to complete the overall look when I upgraded to my Nest Thermostat. I thought the Nest looked nice on it's own with the stock cover, but the wood bracket (I got Golden Oak) really adds something. I get it...it's just a thermostat, but if you're like me, and you care enough to improve your thermostat, then you probably care how it looks in your home.

U didnt cheap out on your tstat dont cheap out on your trim
After you paint it, it will look world's better than the cheap plastic rectangle the nest comes with.

Great look and value
We painted this our wall color, and it looks terrific with our Nest Thermostat E. Great way to save money, buy the cheaper Nest model and dress it up with this!

Excellent Wall Plate
Perfect finishing touch for the Nest, looks odd without it honestly. I wasn't a big fan of the flat and rectangular baseplates either since they didn't accentuate the design very well.
