Rebecca Mini Doll (American Girl)

I bought my child the full sized 18" Rebecca doll for her birthday. She looks just like my child and she loves having a little "twin" of herself. I purchased the mini doll for Christmas so that big Rebecca would have her own doll. I think my little girl will love having a little doll for her big doll. I only paid $16 on Amazon, which is a lot better that $25 in the store (and I live close enough to shop in the AG store and avoid shipping costs). Why buy in the store when Amazon has much better prices?The doll seems in every way to be an exact replica of the bigger doll. The body is cloth and the limbs and head are vinyl. The limbs have a good range of movement. She can sort of stand on her own if she is barefoot, but for display purposes, you need the mini doll stand. Her clothes and shoes can be removed and she can fit into clothes made for Barbie's sisters Stacie and Kelly. AG doesn't make extra outfits for mini dolls, so it's nice to know that my child can use little outfits we already have. The curly hair has a tendency to get knotted. A hair pick works better than a brush. The pick doesn't rip out hairs the way brushes do.I will definitely buy more mini dolls. What a great way to increase a collection of historical dolls without taking up too much room!By the way, the mini book wasn't hard for me to read. My child was able to easily read it, too. I had concerns because I had read other reviews.It is an abridged version, so you'll need to buy the big book if you want the whole story.

This mini doll of Rebecca, the newest American Girl, is a wonderful alternative to the costly larger version. It looks like the regular size doll, with the same facial features and proportions. Like the 18 inch doll, the neck, shoulders, and hip sockets are posable (although the eyes do not blink). Also like the regular doll, this one comes with Rebecca's "meet" outfit and a mini (and abridged) version of her first book, "Meet Rebecca."Visually, this mini doll looks almost as good as the 18 inch doll. The hair is lovely, with a barrette, side part, and soft curls (the mini dolls with bangs are another story, however--the hair is attached a different way from the regular dolls and the bangs end up WAY to poofy), although it may be mussed from being in a box. Her outfit is complete, and almost as cute as the larger size. My main complaint with the dress is that it unfortunately looks a little bit too large for the doll. Also, the buttons are just gold fabric and the boots are a rather flimsy leather and fasten with velcro rather than buttons.I would recommend this mini doll to anyone who wants a Rebecca doll but doesn't want to--or can't--spend almost $100 on it.

These dolls are cute, I give them that. It comes with the price of USA made, but the quality of China made. I was very disappointed to see these where made in CHINA. These dolls are twice the price of Barbie dolls. Not really made any better and that book you get is sooo small. Its about the size of a wet nap. No kidding. That being said this was a great alternative to splurging a $100+ on the big doll and my daughter seemed just as happy. We purchased 3 dolls for under $50 in the hopes this would lessen the impact of not getting the 18" version and it worked perfectly.

I bought this for a Christmas gift for my niece. It looks like it is of good quality and has nice details. It's very cute. I think she will really love it. I can't comment on durability though since it is still in the box and she hasn't played with it yet.Check the size before ordering though. I had tried to guess the size based on the measurements given, but apparently I over estimated. I should have used a ruler, but that is my fault for not doing so. The size is clearly given in the description. Just check this before ordering if you care about the size.

We bought two of these (different dolls) for Christmas...let's just say that they are REALLY small and the books are the size you might get out of a cereal box. Great for a display I guess but not really for a little girl who wants to play with, dress up, do hair, etc.Perhaps I should have looked more closely, but I expected something closer to half the scale of a regular doll. Learning experience.We sent them back and got a full sized doll, and customer service was great.

My daughter has begun to collect the mini American Girl dolls. She has enjoyed them very much. You not only recieve a miniture version of the original doll, but you also recieve with it a hard cover copy of the first book in that doll's series. We purchased two in this transaction - one for my daughter and one for her friend. Her friend's mother called and said that her daughter was so excited. Previously she had purchased the original size doll, for each book series, when her daughter completed reading the series of books for that doll. With the present economy and their families financial situation though, they are no longer able to do this. Her daugher was so excited when she recieved Rebecca and told her mother that now she can collect the mini dolls and still continue her American Girl doll collection! Amazon offers a great deal on the dolls. In my opinion it's the way to go!

The mini dolls always looked a bit creepy to me but so many people seemed to love them so I went ahead and ordered one. They are actually adorable in person and I'm so glad I decided to check them out! Rebecca is one of the full sized dolls that I really want to get but I need to save up more money first. For now I will be happy with the mini version :)

These dolls are darling and my granddaughter absolutely LOVES them - because they're affordable, she can have them all - the cost of doing this with the 18" dolls would be prohibitive and where would you store them all? Anyway, she has both the 18" and the mini of 'her' doll and now the minis of all the others - fabulous play! My only negative is that the eyes do not open and shut - which is why I gave it a 4, but that's certainly no reason not to get them. You can buy clothing for the mini dolls as well and I fully recommend getting the display case that stands 12 mini dolls.

My daughter saved up her money for this mini doll as the large version was too expensive, but as soon as it came and she opened it we thought it was so sweet and cute that we have decided to order the big one all the way from America FOR christmas and we LOVE her! Fantastic doll, the book is all about the era Rebbeca was in ( 1914),over all LOVE IT!Please keep in mind that the mini dolls hair is very frizzy (unlike the big one) and hard to take care of, so if this is your first mini AG doll, i would go for a doll with straight hair so you experience that first as the curly hair is very hard to care for!Thanks for reading,:o)

En effet c'est une poupée très petite mais elle bien soigne, joli visage et jolis vêtements, la taille est parfaite pour la porter avec soi en voyage ou a l’école. Parfait reproduction de sa sœur plus grande.
