NOS NSJ0101 1.5-Ton Aluminum Service Jack

Originally being "NOS" branded I didn't quite know what to expect. When the jack arrived however I read in the documentation that it was made by Arcan, and felt optimistic. Assembling the jack was easy, and the finishing on all the materials/edges seemed pretty good. I always bleed and top off the oil on all the jacks I get, and was surprised that this jack didn't really need any bleeding and was completely topped off. It's been a great companion for the track.

right where you need it and raise a low vehicle high very quickly. The side carry handle keeps you clean and makes easy work of toting it to where it needs to be. Highly recommended. Most floor jacks these days lose their seals (and holding power) over time - that's still to be checked, but I'm optimistic based on the quality of materials and construction. It's a fun jack to use. Fast and effordless.

The qualification given by the seller of "Service jack" is over optimistic. This is more for an ocassional use, and for midsize cars and utes.Light and easy to handle because of the reduced weight due to the aluminum construction, good to very good finish and standard quality.Con: The tubular lever seems very fragile, it really does not give me any confidence because of the excessive flexing, it requires a thicker wall for future versions.Pros: Rides like a breeze in the floor, the dual pump is a real bonus, good finish with no sharp edges or smeared soldering work, solid wheeling.Please understand me, this is a good product with a fair price, but I do not think as an engineer and a DIY that is designed to withstand a heavier duty in commercial or professional use. Disturbing noises and light bending when lifting a Ford Explorer (2011 body on frame version) suggest you should crank it up one or two inches less than advertised to be safe. If you want a real "Service jack" do yourself a favor and stick to regular steel floor jacks.As a companion in a long trip is a good choice, the lighter construction is a plus when you have to haul it around. I have a real 3-1/2 ton steel floor jack permanently in my garage (One Chevy Silverado, Two Explorers and one Suzuki Grand Vitara) but this will be for my trips a sure item. I will use it for several weeks before buying a second one.

Easy to transport and move around on old rough concret driveway. No problem lifting font on honda crv for oil change. Great for older guy like me to move into position and easy to store.

I thought this would be a great jack to carry in the trailer to the race track. It is lightweight, but it's very small. It looks like a 1/2 scale toy jack. It's so small that it's unstable on anything but perfectly level concrete. I'm not sure what it would be good for, but it's not for me.

I've always used a heavy duty 2 ton jack but I was looking for something a little smaller and lighter for my new garage. This one is well made and perfect for my needs. I was able to lift both Jeep Grand Cherokee rear wheels with ease but I did have to add a piece of 4x4 under the diff to get the hight needed.

This jack is soooo much better that my steel one from Sears. Using this and a slotted rubber jack pad Full Size Large Universal Slotted Rubber Jack Pad Frame Rail Protector by TMB I am able to jack up my jeep now!!! Before I always had to add wood or something on my old jack to reach enough height. This one is light, nimble, handy, and jacks up fast.

I am very suspicious of many of these reviews. Most of them do not even state which model (weight capacity) they purchased.
