Great so far, arrived in just a few days; bike feels like an Uber / Jump bike
No problems with import or duty to pay (I've read somewhere you can get a bill later, but nothing so far). The battery and motor arrived in just a few days from PSWPower in Germany, much quicker than the quoted 2-3 weeks. (Looks like it arrived in London in just a couple of days, but that was Saturday, and then it was delivered on Monday by Parcelforce. The tracking on both DHL and Parcelforce was quite detailed - I was checking it a lot in case I needed to pay duty. This is in March 2021.)The experience now is very similar to the red Uber / Jump / Lime bikes around London (not the old green Lime bikes which were not as good and had no gears). The VLCD5 display is pretty simple. There's a little set of handlebar buttons to turn it on/off and set the power assist level. The motor is very quiet and smooth. The assistance cuts out at 25kph / 15mph so it's road-legal. If anything it feels slightly more powerful than the Jump bikes, but maybe because there is less weight, and the gears are better. I have kept the 7-speed cartridge on the back. Gear changing feels like no problem. Maybe I shouldn't, but I keep a bit of force on, and it changes quickly and quietly enough.I gather the TSDZ2 installation involves a lot fewer wires because with the crank/axle torque sensor you don't need wires attached to the brakes and gears. It works very intuitively. Sometimes, with just the one magnet, it sometimes seems to take a turn of the back wheel before the assistance kicks in.I'm not experienced as a bike mechanic; this is the first time removed a bottom bracket. I had bought a bike workshop stand and toolkit in advance, and I had changed a few cranks, pedals and derailleurs etc. There were some points where it was at the limit of my (middle-aged) strength to get the old stuff off (especially after getting the direction wrong on the reverse threaded bits:). There are lots of resources on youtube - I had to attach the tool with a bolt to stop it slipping.Once I'd got the bottom bracket off my 20yo "Specialized Crossroads A1 Sport", it was quite easy to fit the motor; it just slotted into the bottom bracket, and then there are few bolts to tighten. (In my case I had to remove the old broken kick-stand, and front derailleur of course, but this was no problem. I had to order a pair of quick-link pliers to undo the chain from the derailleur cage). The electronics plug together easily; the plugs are a bit stiff but I assume that's for water resistance. (The motor won't turn until you have it all fitted to the bike, because it has an internal torque sensor.) Mine is looking a bit Heath Robinson with wires held on with cable ties, but it's fine so far.The water-bottle cage bolt-holes in the frame did not suit the battery, so at the moment it's held on with only one bolt, which I found by chance in a box of bits. It needs quite a low-profile "M5 15mm" bolt. I've ordered a few more. I'm also looking for an adapter (forgot the name) which I hope will allow both holes to be used. So far it seems quite firm with the one screw, and two of the plastic rectangular spacers supplied. I have bumped over a lot of London speed-bumps and nothing has fallen off yet.The battery has a key to remove it from the mount, which works fine.I've only done about 10-15 miles so far. The battery still says it's fully charged.

Lightweight
Having fitted this mid-drive kit to my Giant hybrid bicycle I have only cycled around 25 miles. Still a good measure of the electric assistance as it is very hilly around here. My first test was to cycle up a 1 mile hill that starts as a one in seven. I reached the top in comfort with no heavy breathing or aching muscles. That is despite my 21 gear bike now having just seven gears because of the chain ring change from tripple to single. The motor is whisper quiet and provides help smoothly in proportion to the effort (torque) the cyclist inputs. The bicycle handling is largely unaffected because the weight of the system is low down and central.Fitting was straightforward and well within the capabilities of the basic DIYer. The only fiddly bit was getting the motor casing to clear the derailieur cable guides fitted to the underside of the bottom bracket. The 'installation guide' is laughable, hence the four stars. This kit is good value for a pedal assist system based on a proper torque sensor as opposed to a cadence monitor..
