Hair- Styling Tips and Tricks for Girls (American Girl) (American Girl Library)

I bought this for my daughter years ago. It’s a great book with a lot of good information. She’s currently enrolled in cosmetology so this book gets a little credit for that. Perfect for girls interested in hair!

This book disappointed. (And I love the American Girl books and bought everyone for my daughter). I wanted the book to explain in detail, how to properly wash hair thoroughly, instructions on detangling and what to use, when to use it- how to properly dry hair for different hair types, and style hair. I wanted to see how-to steps with cool braids they are doing now with a focus on simple do it yourself hair style. I thought the hair styles in this book were outdated & immature.

Not bad, but need some updated hair styles

12 year old loved this book. Started middle school & wants to start experimenting with different hairstyles. Since I'm clueless when it comes to that, I bought this book for us to use together. I haven't been able to pry it away from her yet because she's enjoying perusing the book very much.

My middle daughter doesn't have the best hygiene, and this book helped inspire her to put more stock in her appearance and take care of her hair (it starts there) since it is so long. Thanks!

As a single father of 2 young girls, this book is pure gold. I purchased this book as a gift for my girls, but I read it and use it all the time-not on my hair. Shows easy styles and has hair health tips also. I think I could soon braid Willy Nelsons hair.

Good hairstyles in this book

was for younger children not really teenager, as I had thought, plus smaller book than expected.

A very informative and easy to follow book not only for young girls to inspire them to look after their hair the right way for their hair type, but also to adults alike. Highly recommended even for trainees of the hairdressing profession to brush up on their basic knowledge.

Written to help any young girl take care of her hair with easy but cute hairstyles

My daughter got this when she was 9 and loves looking through it and picking our her hairstyle.A lot of the styles are a little babyish for her, but the haircare tips are great and my daughter felt very grown up by researching products herself.I would say that parents can get great ideas for their daughter hair once its shoulder length. There is about 30 different hairstyles - none are too complicated. A 7 or 8 year old could do it on someone else. Also, its spiral bound, so lays flat easily so you can refer back when you are mid style, and the illustrations are pretty clear.If buying as a gift, perhaps pair it with some clear hair bobbles so the recipient can get stuck in right away!
