Not what I expected from Freeplay.
First off let me say that this radio is much smaller than it appears in the picture,it is just a bit larger than an Eton micro link.Pros: good AM reception an an excellent bright flashlight. The warning siren is plenty loud enough to wake sleeping people within a three rome area. The winding mechanism is smoothAnd charges the radio in no time at all. The solar panel works well and is housed behind a clear plastic housing to protect it.The sound from the speaker is good considering it's small size.Cons: the radio looks and feels cheap! It is not nearly the quality of the previous Freeplay models, and I know this well because I own about seven different Freeplay Radios. It reminds me of one of those plastic package radios you can get at the dollor store.Pulls in local FM stations well but has a hard time pulling in a station that is about 35 miles away from me, I live in Oklahoma City and it is relativity flat around here. The dial is very small and hard to see, in low light conditions nearly impossible to make out the numbers! The antenna is cheaply made and does not swivel, they include a steel wire in the box and say if the antenna breakers off stick this wire in the hole that is left. REALLY!.The Shortwave section picks up all the main Shortwave stations that have powerfull transmitters like Radio Havana ect. This radio seems to work OK but is grossly overpriced, I felt cheated compared to the other Freeplay products I have purchased in the past. Thanks for reading my Review, I hope it helps.
