Small models fun and educational for kids
My son asked for just books about space for Christmas. He is only 7 and I knew he would still want a toy. He was going through this stage that most toys looked too babyish to him. I'm glad I orderd this with his Science books. He loves them. I wasn't sure how he would feel about these but his eyes lit up when he opened the box. He did say he accidentally broke one getting it out of the package but we have not had any others break with 3 months of play. He still pays with these although he no longer reads about space because his interest has shifted to biology but these little toy models have kept his interest. My 3 year old daughter likes them too. They are small so keep little ones away.

Great toy for the money!
This was a huge hit with my nephew who is almost 6. He is very much into space and planets. I shuttle doors open and the wheels come down, however, it was a little hard at first to get the wheels to drop down. As others have stated the little figures do not fit in the shuttle. That is the first thing my nephew tried to do. Even though they don't fit he still loved playing with it. The toy comes with an American flag as well as a small plastic 'arm' to do pretend fixes. There were 3 sets of stickers to put on the shuttle. One for Discovery, Endeavor and one other. I would recommend it to any young space enthusiast.

Space Nostalgia
I ordered this for my 4 year-old who was showing an interest in outer space and astronauts, etc. He enjoys showing the set to the neighbor kids, and their parents. The details are fabulous for such an inexpensive toy as this. However, I have two HUGE GRIPES, but would still recommend this toy for purchase. First, the pieces are NOT TO SCALE. So from an educational standpoint, I'm still having trouble trying to explain that the 4 astronauts included (approx. 1" tall each) actually sat in the service, command and lunar modules (approx. 1-2" tall each), and the modules were actually inside the tip of the Saturn V rocket (approx 1/4" space in a 5" rocket). There is a separate command module piece that's about the size of a 2-liter soda bottle cap, and this is bigger than the command module attached to the servide module in another piece. The communications center truck is bigger than the space shuttle, but the shuttle does sit on the Boeing 747(?), but doesn't snap on so the shuttle falls off "in flight," and the two booster rockets and orange external fuel tank for the shuttle are not included. You get the idea...Secondly, there was NO GUIDE BOOK included to explain what each piece is!! So growing up during the manned space flights program, I had to rely on my memory for what piece was what, and I must say, I did damn good. I then ordered [ASIN:0753451336 The Best Book of Spaceships]and that finally helped in validating my explanations. We promised to visit Cape Canaveral one day so that my son can see how big some of these items really were. The pieces are somewhat fragile, so if your child likes to manhandle toys, I'd probably order something more durable. But my 4 yr-old hasn't broken or lost anything--yet, after nearly a month.

Great toy!!!!
This Orbiter has been a blessing in our house, it has made my 6 year old son very happy, since we got it my son and i have been on several space missions, re entry sequences and even gone to mars. Today we destroyed an earth bound asteriod. This toy made my son want to be an astronaut when he grows up. . The orbiter is of greatt quality and well made, it even is a replica of my son's favorite orbiter the great DISCOVERY. I recomend this toy to all parents who want to boost their children's imagination, and remember that imagination is what makes dreams come true.

Nice ship for little ones to play with
This was a gift for our 4 year old, he is really into space ships/rocket ships and for the price and his age we thought this would be a great item to get him for Christmas. When he opened it up he was really excited and could not wait to play with it.PROS:The ship is mostly diecast metal so it feels like solid qualitySeveral parts to play withGreat size for a 4 year oldCostCONS:Minimal detail on shipThe doors on the top don't open/close properlyIt came with a stand I think that I cannot figure out how to set the ship on \The little men and flag are super cheap but they are not why I bought itOverall this was a fair buy, my son has played with a little bit and I think I would buy it again for the price and age of my son. If you are looking for something to put on display or you are collector I really don't think this is the toy for you.

Fantastic!
My 2 year old son LOVES all of these! It was a cheaper set when compared to others so I was surprised how good the quality was! In the last year a few pieces broke here and there but they were not treated with gentle hands. :) I appreciated how some pieces were attached and recommend keeping them that way if your child is young as once taken apart, they can be difficult to put back together. They are especially fun to use with white play dough as the moon or red play dough as Mars. I brought them to my kindergarten classroom and my student LOVED them too!

Arrived broken and more pieces fell apart quickly
When it arrived the little “communication vehicle” was already broken. The back wheels were disconnected and it wasn’t possible to reattach. The front wheels disconnected with barely any handling of the car. My son was so upset and wanted to keep it, but then the lunar lander fell apart just from picking it up, and so we ended up returning it. Terrible quality. I can’t believed they even released this toy. NASA shouldn’t let them use their logo.
