Destino: A Mafia Romance (The Battaglia Mafia Series Book 1)

I understand this is a mafia romance. I understand the male lead is domineering and strong, but it got ridiculous after a certain point. The first quarter or so of the book was very intriguing (though the grammar is atrocious and needs a new edit). BUT repeatedly the character actions made no sense. Particularly as far as Mira and Fabiana are concerned. One scene Mira is claiming she’s herself with Giovanni and wants a fling. The next scene she’s telling him no sex, let’s be friends. Then every time Mira sets a boundary with Giovanni (for example, she wanted to get to know each more first before getting physical again), he crosses every single boundary. I started out finding Giovanni interesting and wound up realizing he’s a controlling creep who can’t ever take NO for an answer. He literally sneaks into her bed as she sleeps and basically forces her. This is NOT sexy. Also, Mira was a weak female lead. She talks a big game about being an independent woman, but where was this ever shown? If anything she is weak and a pushover. Giovanni repeatedly walks all over her and even flat out demeans her profession as a designer.I’ve heard so much about this romance, but it was toxic and subpar in quality. One star.

This is my third read of Destino, the first in The Battaglia Mafia Series. This is one of the best Interracial Italian Mafia books that I've ever read. Ms. Mynx is one of the best authors of this genre.The main characters were fully developed. Giovanni Battaglia (Gio) is Don of the most famous mafia family in Italy/Sicily. Mira Ellison is a top Black American fashion designer and has recently moved to Italy. They were strongly attracted to each upon first sight. Gio determined to have Mira, whom he called Bella, by any means necessary. Mira was as attracted to Gio and didn't understand it, but was powerless to resist him. They were weak for each other causing him trouble with his mafia members.The secondary characters were also well developed. Lorenzo was Gio's cousin and third in command. I immediately hated him. Fabiana was Mira's business manager and best friend. Lorenzo and Fabiana had met earlier and were also attracted to each other. They lied to and manipulated Gio and Mira so they could be together. Their lies brought nothing but physically dangers, mayhem and even death, to those around them. There were other secondary characters that you loved, hated and pitied. Some were misguided or weak or downright evil. Their actions affected Gio's and Mira's relationship adversely even though unintentionally.The book was entertaining with a fully a developed plot and subplots. The sex was hot, sometimes sensual and plentiful. There was enough danger and intrigue that kept you reading until early morning hours. There were so many errors, grammatical and formatting, among others, that kept it from being a well written book. An editor is desperately needed. Still, it was of the best written of it genre.In spite of this being my third read, I'm anxious to read the next book in the series. Good thing I don't have to wait but can start reading now.

Just WOW!! Phenomenal story. Sienna Mynx knows how to write a damn good read. Destino, book 1 in the Battaglia series introduces you to American fashion Designer Mirabella and how she met, and fell in love with Italian Mafia Boss Giovanni Battaglia. They are from two different worlds yet they found each other and fall deeply in love in a short time.This first book in the series introduces you to the characters involved and who you will see throughout the Battaglia series. You get to see the world of Italy living in the crime boss mafia lifestyle. There's drama, intrigue, assassinations, craziness, love, envy, bitterness, loss, betrayal, forgiveness. This book has it all and then some. It leaves you fully satisfied and wanting more.Sienna Mynx goes into great details to give you the full story to draw you into this world. She did a fantastic job with this book. She leaves you excited and wanting to read the next book in the series.Again, a damn good read. Not my 1st time reading through this book and each time I've read it, I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

So I kept going back and forth with this book because I really really didn’t like Giovanni. Like my prickly feminist rose up and was like ‘hold da $@$! up’ Mr. Man! I also kept getting irritated with the girls because they kept going back and forth over something that was very obvious.With all that aside though this book has me up at 2AM eager to write a review because it was just that good. It was like an epic movie that just kept going and even though there’s another book in the series you feel full. Each person was well thought out and everything made sense. You understood the turmoil and joy from everyone. This was a great novel jam packed with action love sexy times and intrigue. It’s worth the buy and if you give Giovanni a pass in the beginning you’ll come to understand the type of man he is. Happy reading

Love...love..love this story. As usual Sienna Mynx can weave a tale like none other.The story is full of intrigue, sex, betrayal and dare I say, bloody killing. What a read.I find myself laughing, crying and sighing at lot. I love me some Gio..he love Mira..but is devoted to his family and their way of life.As with all romance we love our men tall & Handsome. I have yet to meet a tall Italian man..lol. Italian men average about 5'5 to 5'9 as do the chinese. I have been to Italy a few time and they are short and full of flowery chat. Kei..Mira's Chinese ex is also tall...lol. Both both men are rare,very rare.. but possible.The ending had me so anxious for book 2, which comes out 15 December. Poor Gio as become a hot drunken killing mess in his pain over Mira. All because of ass-wipe Flavio.The editing was great..thank you Sienna or whom ever did the editing. I love reading Ms. Mynx's stories that do get you riled up with anticipation and excitement.

I took me a little while to get into the story but once Mira meets Gio and he starts wooing her, the story is then absolutely riveting and very entertaining. It is a mafia story so if you are not into those kinds of stories then best leave it alone. There are mafia incidents, killings etc which just adds to the drama for me.I am loving it so far, I am off to read book 2. Thank God I waited until she had written the first 3 books in the series and book 4 should be coming in December 13 so not too long to wait. I am sure I could cope with the cliff hangers and unfinished stories lines.Well worth the time and money!

This was the best ebook I have read since January 2020. Loved the manliness of the men. And the sex was just fantastic. I enjoyed the banter between Mira and Fabriana. It's a shame that Fabriana had to die. Can wait to read book 2

Ok what can I say? This book is for nature audiences only. I love Giovanni and Mira. I love the way sienna wrote all the characters in this book from the beginning to the end. Each character has a meaty substance in the book. Amazing story line and Giovanni is EVERY womans kinda man! Wow!!! I wish I could give this book TEN STARS!!!!

I haven't been this engrossed in a book in a very long time. I just discovered this series I can't wait to crack on with book 2. This is an epic love story between a most unlikely pair. Sienna Mynx is a brilliant writer, I will be reading more of her work.
