I would not recommend it for a large dog as it is light and appears it would not last long with them. The handle itself is smaller, and would be more adapt for a womans hand versus a male. My husband can not use the leash due to this issue. Construction of the product seems sound, and the retractable webbed leash does go in and out easily. There is a nice toggle switch on the end to lock to the dogs collar, and is easy to use. The issue with the size and being light weight is why I gave 4 out of 5 stars. It's okay. I prefer my hula hoop that doesn't snap together, because unlike this one it is smooth all the way around when hooping. The weight is off due to the weight of the different pieces being snapped on. It gives the hooping a funky feel, even though it still works okay. Depending upon if a I wouldn't order this again for that reason. I do like that it's weighted. I've only tried taking the hoop a part a few times. The last couple of times, it was becoming more challenging than it had been. I decided to leave it be, especially not that my hands are more tempramental due to my work.

Product came in quick. Easy to assemble. The inner portion of the hula hoop is plastic and it does need to click into place. I was excited to use it and when I did first use it. I did it in my living room and since it was not clicked into place the hula hoop opened up and almost hit one of my kids. So I would highly recommend do it in a safe place with nothing breaking or no children near you in case it snaps open.

The weight of this hula hoop is perfect. I’ve try the one that’s 5lb before and it’s way too heavy for me. So I turn to this one. For the first ten minute that I spin it, my abdomen feels quite itchy. After after a while I no longer feel so. I wouldn’t recommend spin it for too long.

Super cute and works great. The line is a bit tight so the dog doesn't just run to the end of it. I have a 12 pound Pekingese and she walks well on it and appreciates the freedom to wander while looking for a place to go potty in "private" or in other words, not right next to me.

Owned less than two months. Today, I went out walking my small/medium dog. He gets excited about something and yanks moderately hard and snap! The leash completely broke off and retracted into the cylinder. My dog ran and nearly got hit by two separate cars. Luckily he's a "pee on everything he sees" dog and with the second or third thing that got him curious I was able to catch up and snag him. I carried him home one handed (that's how small he is) and made sure he knew I wasn't angry at him but at this stupid leash. Not sure he fully believes me yet... there was a lot of chasing and yelling.

The hoola hoop was easy to put together (although this listing looks like a TV now for some reason?!) however it didn’t feel weighted to me and didn’t give me a real workout that I was hoping for. Maybe the hoola hoop just isn’t for me.
