Eco system created
This is on the bottom of my guppy tank (2.5 aqua bow). There are no filters, substrates other than this. I have java fern floating and moss balls to oxygenate, which enjoy the fish poo. No filters, no cleaning, it is all self-sustaining and my guppies are hearty.My betta has a white sand like substrate in his tank, large java ferns on which to rest and rub, and two smaller moss balls. These ceramic bio balls are scattered on the floor of his tank (2.5 aqua bow) and they keep his water ph healthy.I sometimes use a turkey baster to suction up the fish poo or uneaten betta pellets, which is then fed to my house plants.I have an empty tank with alder cones and capalba leaves, which is what I add to each tank after suctioning out extra poo or to top off.
