looooong term pantry, emergency prep, 25 year shelf life unopened, stacking calories
I buy Augason products when they are on sale. Been doing this on and off for a few years now. Always been a bit of a "prepper", since I was a toddler it seems, haha (In my 40s now). I has served me well through power outages, sicknesses, unemployment, and even bigger stuff like the pandemic, and now... *vaguely gestures around* everything else that is going on. I've never been one to be without when anything has come up. I never did "emergency food" if only because I didnt have the budget. I would stick with typical foods and try to store them well. Well now I have a little more wiggle room in my budget, and with the on and off sales of long term storage (20+ years), I take advantage when I can. I remember buying some Augason eggs back in 2019 for $19. Today? $33-56 for same container, depending on the day.And so, I haven't opened this 3lbs 4 ounce container of cheese blend powder.. sorry. I dont intend to any time soon. But I wanted to shore up my options. Having some soups and such just adds flavor to other options used. I can add more veg, or a protein, or beans, or simply have some bread to dip into it. Or I can use as way to flavor something. I have a slew of reviews to write on various Augason products, and so they will all be pretty much the same: Super long term storage (25+ years), no matter what the weight, it will be stuffed into a #10 can (that reads, "number ten", not ten pound. I see that mistake in reviews). They keep sizes uniform. Next size up is a round bucket, next size up gets into the rectangular buckets. This is for storage that can be uniform, etc. So yes, you may buy a 7 ounce item that is volume wise that takes up a smidge of space, but it will be packed into a large #10 container. Just remember, all food products are sold based on weight, not volume anyway. All of my containers have been in perfect condition. Maybe one day soon I will try one container out and see how the product actually is.Everyone's SHTF scenario varies. It could be bad weather (tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, ice storms), could be illness, could be road trip gone wrong (you do keep supplies in your car too, right?!), could be unemployment, or power outage, or lack of transportation, or oven/fridge/other appliance break down, or bigger stuff like plagues, food shortages, supply chain issues, *cough WW3 cough*, etc. No matter the situation we all need some things to get by: we need is food, water, shelter, some hygeine and medical stuff, and so on. You dont have to stack "emergency supplies" but you do need to stack shelf stable food items. Buy a few extra things every single time you go to the store. If you get to a spot that you feel comfortable and have the budget, then grab the "emergency" items like Augason offers. I like adding it in and just forgetting about it.I give 5 stars because the cans always are in perfect condition, they have regular sales, are good about shipping items as soon as they can, have lots of items to choose from, and so far seem to be of good quality.

Delicious Cheese Powder!
This cheese powder is amazing. It tastes delicious and cheesy. The flavor is a lot like the powder that comes in Kraft macaroni and cheese boxes, except without the saltiness. This cheese powder is excellent for making any kind of cheese sauce. It dissolves easily into water or milk and makes a creamy sauce. We add this to regular, boxed mac & cheese to ramp up the cheesiness. If you’re making a thin sauce, you do have to whisk or beat the powder to avoid lumps. We’ve never had a problem with lumps when adding extra cheese powder directly to the prepared mac & cheese from a box. This versatile powder is very fine and great for sprinkling. Our favorite is to add sprinkle this over popcorn with a little butter- flavored cooking spray. The powder adheres really well to the popcorn and tastes delicious, though you do need a fair amount of it. Still, cheese popcorn really elevates movie night to a whole new level. The kids are obsessed with this and add it to everything I let them. This cheese powder is perfect for broccoli cheese soup, casseroles, or sprinkling over French fries, chips, or crackers (and yes, we’ve done all of those!).This cheese powder stores well, for the most part. The shelf life of an unopened can is about 10 years, according to the manufacturer. We haven’t had any cans from this manufacturer for that long, but these cans do last for at least a year without the quality diminishing. Once opened, the cheese powder lasts for 2-3 months on the shelf without diminishing in flavor. However, we live in a humid climate, so at about 2 months in you run into the problem of the cheese powder clumping up. Once it does that, the flavor is still fine, but it’s much more difficult for it to dissolve, you can’t use it for sprinkling, and it makes for a lumpy, grainy sauce. If you plan to store an open can for more than about a month, you’ll need to put a couple of food-safe desiccant packs into the open can. This is a great cheese powder that you can use for long-term storage, but also for just regular, everyday use. We don’t have to struggle to rotate this into our diet. We got these cans on sale for about $20/can on Amazon, which is a great deal, and cheaper than most other cheese powders on Amazon. When this stuff comes on sale, you better believe, we’re buying it!

Tasty, Handy, Tastes like cheese, but lots of sodium
I bought this as an additive and not as sauce so I haven't made sauce with it. Works great in ramen, rice, beans, thicken up tomato sauce adding cheese flavor without the sticky breakdown of shredded cheese. So far I like it a lot, can't comment on shelf life yet.

Love this cheese product
Absolutely love this cheese product a very picky neurodivergent child who absolutely loves it. Tried some different recipes with it. Every one of them were delicious. Price was very, very good. The first cam that I ordered came dented and the vendor immediately replaced it for free with a new one and apologies upstanding vendor. We Will definitely be buying more.

Cheese Powder
I am not a fan.It is not bad, but I tried to make a simple mac and cheese using this powder and I cannot believe how weak the flavor is. O started out using two cups and finally used a third of the very large can and still had a weak cheese sauce mix. Do not expect this to be like the powdered cheese packets in boxes of name brand mac and cheese, as is is not even in the same ballpark considering flavor strength. The flavor is not bad, but it is not strong enough for four or five stars. The weakness makes this sauce extremely expensive.I was hoping for restaurant grade cheese powder considering the cost. I was mistaken.
