BLANCO 440851 Installation Clips for Undermount Silgranit Sinks, Stainless Steel

These clips are designed to be installed into a new sink pre-installed to an upside down countertop. In other words, the countertop is turned upside down and then the sink is also turned upside down and fitted to the countertop with silicon sealer and these clips. Once the sealer has set and the clips are installed, the entire assembly is then turned right side up and lowered into place. For replacement sinks with an, of course, already installed countertop, use EZ Clips.

... and similar synthetic materials, made I think from pulverized minerals like granite bonded with silicon, have a lot of strengths, one being 'strength' and another being durability. It helps that they look fashionable and that they can be purchased in a very wide variety of shapes, depths, sizes, and mounting types. Blanco seems to get the largest market share. I've just installed Blanco sinks in the kitchens of three houses, one where I live and two which I rent out, and everybody involved is delighted. The previous enameled iron sinks were ready to go in all three kitchens; now I can forget about them for, I hope, several decades.The chief 'high end' competitor for silgranit is stainless steel. Basically, I like the 'aura' of silgranit better, and it certainly suits the architecture of older homes better. The two materials are both supposed to be impervious to stains and highly resistant to chips or scratches. Oddly enough, they have the same flaw: they both "look" dirty easily unless they are cleaning quite often. The whitish silgranit takes smudges from pots and pans, and looks grubby after every dish-washing. Fortunately, however, it can be cleaned quickly and successfully with any old cleanser. It that way, it's far superior to stainless steel, which is hard to keep shiny and spotless.My ultimate hope is that I won't ever, ever have to revise this review ... that is, that the silgranit sinks will last longer I will. My heirs will have to float or 'sink' for themselves.
