Definitely for power users.
This vacuum sealer is very nice. It is high quality and well-functioning. It has a lot of useful features to make sealing a breeze without damaging food. It is large. If you don't have extra counter space this isn't the easiest thing to pull out for a bag or two at a time. If you have the space great, if not I would think you might want to do it in batches only pulling it out when you have a lot to do. I luckily have enough counter space for it so I can and do use it almost daily. Oh, and it looks sleek on the counter too.My Review Criteria: I do not review anything that I don't want/need for my own personal use and I have enough knowledge about it to provide accurate and useful details. I do tell it like it is and I am not influenced to provide feedback that isn't based on facts or my own experience. Therefore you can trust my unbiased review as if I were a friend looking out for your best interest and that of your hard-earned money.

Big but a gives a nice seal
Haven’t had any issues like some of the reviews I read. I did have to learn how to arrange food in the bag before sealing. Good suction to get the air out quickly and gives a nice seal. I have a few friends with vacuum sealers of their own and say they love this one. Maybe there’s just a learning curve? Been very happy with this one. Has changed how I buy meat!

Powerful and fast. But takes a lot of space and is expensive.
The media could not be loaded. From a purely functional point of view, this is an amazing vacuum sealer. It is fast! It seems at least twice as fast as home vacuum sealers I've used before and worked perfectly.I buy whole cuts of beef and butcher them myself, prep for sous vide and freeze them for easy steak dinners. I usually get eight or nine steaks out of it. With my Anova Precision Vacuum Sealer Pro (and a Foodsaver before that) it usually takes me 10-15 minutes and often I have to redo one or two or futz with them to get them to vacuum all the way. I don't think it took me more than 3 or 4 minutes with the Vesta and there were no redos. It's also really easy to use. I love the buttons on the handle which makes operations simple. And it was a great touch that it came with extra gaskets. And the seal is very wide -- twice as wide as the others I've used.I haven't had an opportunity to try the marinate function yet, but it sounds very cool -- it alternatively vacuums and releases pressure to get the meat to draw in the marinade. I'll update once I do.Here's the downsides:1) it's HUGE! It's takes 3 or 4 times to counter space/ storage space as my Anova.2) There a couple features of the Anova I miss -- mostly the built in roll storage and cutter.3) The price! It's 4x more expensive than the Anova. If you regularly sous vide or do a lot of vacuum sealing, the time saved might make it worth the price. I'm glad I got it to review it because I do love it. But would I spend $399 for it? Knowing how fast it is, if I felt like splurging, I don't think I'd regret it.

Perfect seal every time
This is a very high-quality food sealer. It's stainless steel and built very tough. I get a perfect seal every time. It does have it's own built-in sensing, so it knows if you haven't positioned it correctly or if it's not getting a good vacuum seal, and it can alert you or adjust the suction to correct any loss of pressure. It is large, so I can use it for extra-large meat cuts.

Big difference between a home vacuum sealer and a commercial one like the Vesta. See why ..
I have a small home vacuum sealer that use. But I thought I'd upgrade the kitchen and try a commercial unit like the Vesta. What a big difference. In many respects the Vesta is easier to use but you'll need to unlearn some of your habits from the home version. Locking the top seems very different. The some version I had to press on the top till I heard a click. Not the Vesta. Simply close the top and put slight pressure on it and the vacuum seems to pull it in place and lock it with the vacuum. Either that or I'm doing it wrong but I didn't hear any clicking to indicating a locking mechanism triggering. But I did get to vacuum out air. My first try was a disaster. I asked for a regular vacuum for bread, and you can see in the picture that it squished the bread into a tiny ball. Come to find out I should have chosen the manual button. After that I went to the manual were the directions are clear. You may be at disadvantage if you think you know what you are doing because you have a home version. The vacuum acts very quickly so really check what you are wanting to do. So is it easy to use? Probably yes if you read the manual first :). The manual also has tips that compare length of time between regular storage of food items and what you can extend it to with a vacuum. It also has tips such as freezing bread for 24 hours for a better seal.

Commercial Grade And User Friendly
This Vesta sealer is the best vacuum sealer that I've ever owned. This is large enough to seal the big mylar bags. For sealing grains and rice, etc. It doesn't even compare with the smaller units. Aside from its commercial grade 16" sealing capability, it has a function called 'Pulse Vacuum'. This function allows me to vacuum seal delicate items without wrecking them. Such as wedding cake for example. Anything you don't want crushed, can safely be sealed with the pulse vacuum function. They even threw in three sizes of vacuum pouches. I'm very happy with this professional vacuum sealer, and I can't recommend this sealer enough.

Very nice Vacuum Sealer
Sealer is definitely a mid professional model sealer that really pumps down quickly. Very nice easy to clean stainless surface. This sealer is large and wide so you can use almost any bags. Easy to use just select what kind of vacuum you want and press the vacuum button and then the seal when it is pulled all the way down. This does pump down faster than the unit I have from a reputable sealer maker. Seal is very good and I used this and the bags for sous vide some steaks. Works great. Also very nice it comes with extra set of seals.

Total disappointment
You have to lean on both sides of machine once it starts to vacuum to get it to vacuum and seal. Can't even just push down on handle to get it working, have to push down on both sides. once you get it started it vacuums and seals quickly. Doesn't have any way to make custom bags. Worked it along side a $130.00 Different brand of machine and the cheaper machine out preformed it badly. Paid almost $900.00 for The Vesta Machine. Made the mistake of not using it when I first received it and was denied refund after Vesta support said I purchased from Amazon and not directly from Vesta. $900.00 Boat anchor !!!
