12" SUPER HIGH ACCURACY DIGITAL READOUT (DRO) WITH REMOTE READING Stainless Steel for Mill/Lathe

I put this on the cross slide of my Atlas/Craftsman 12" lathe. Works great, makes working with the machine so much easier on my brain! I'm not sure how I made it without it.

You can spend a lot more money and buy a readout with more features, and hopefully more accuracy, but this is just fine for my hobby machine.I installed it on my milling machine. The brackets that came with the scales are more or less useless. I guess if you have a milling machine in the first place, you are qualified to design and make your own mounting system. Which I did.I find that the accuracy is a bit lacking. I make a part with dozens of holes along an 18" bar. Going from one end of the X axis to the other puts the readout a few thousandths out of whack. Going back to the origin puts it back on zero though. Moral of the story is you will still be using the feed dials after getting it in the neighborhood with the digital readout. All in all, it does make the operation easier and faster and I'm glad I bought it.Would I recommend it to a friend? Sure, if this is what he needs. If he is a serious machinist, he probably should spend more money for a better product.

I use this with my HiTorque 4700, which is a hobby manual milling machine. My complaint is that it cannot be used along side cutting fluid. I used Jancy water-based cutting fluid, which caused the DRO to malfunction; after disassembling and drying the parts, it works fine.

Very nice for the money

A little disappointed with the scale in general. I will list reasons.1) cheap plastic construction for readout2) no auto-shutoff3) display is hard to read, could use back light, but that would kill battery life4) there is a delay in movement to readout display5) mini USB connection to side of readout is fragile and for me, in the wrong location

great product. I should have done this years ago. The mill is so much easier to use now. Installation was reasonable.

These work great on my mill. Much better than the scales with built in readouts, I had to stand on my head to read those. These have bigger batteries too, haven't used them enough to tell if battery life will be greatly improved.

easy to install on my grizzly mill. Took about two hour to install even with making my own mounts from aluminum.
