Swidan Replacement NICad&NiMh Battery Charger for DEWALT 7.2V-18V NiCad & NiMh Battery DW9057 DC9071 DC9091 DC9096 DW9072 DW9091 DC9099 DW9099

Bought this to charge a battery for my cordless hedge trimmer. My original charger had fallen, cracked and stopped working. Out of the box, this charger felt incredibly light and cheap...almost as if it couldn't contain the necessary electronics to charge a battery. My hunch was right. The lights flashed as if charging, but it did not actually charge the battery at all. I tested it with a second (known good) battery just in case it was a battery issue, and it would not charge that battery either. I repaired my old cracked charger and threw this in the trash. Sometimes you get what you pay for, and the incredibly low price of this charger made it not worth my time to go through a return/refund process. I wouldn't recommend this charger to anybody.

I ordered this charger thinking it would charge my 18V DeWalt battery. It arrived quickly, but when I plugged it in and put the battery on this charger, all it did was blink a red light. The instructions said this meant a "bad battery". I ordered another battery just in case. When it arrived, I put it in my driver and the battery worked great, it came charged. After I used it for an hour, I put the brand new battery on the charger, and the same thing happened, the red light flashed. I checked the voltage on the new battery and it was 19.4V. I checked the old battery and it showed 3.6V.and now the window for returning it is closed. I'm not happy about this purchase at all.

the only dislike that I have for this charger is that the indicator light does not turn green when battery is charged. Otherwise it works as advertised.

UPDATE- After 3 days the battery charged. It is old and required more time to charge. I wished there was green light to show the charge complete.
