I live in sunny Florida and was looking for the best sun umbrella, for a 5 min walk I have form the train to my office.I ordered 5 white umbrellas from Amazon and this one was the best. Here is why:1. Light weight.2. Very easy to open and close (It is not auto-open or auto-close, but is easier to handle than other auto-close/open umbrellas I ordered ).3. Sun protection: It's white but sunlight does not goes through.My only wish is that it was windproof. If the company improved sturdiness, this little umbrella will deserve a 5 star rating.One last thing, this company has great customer service. I had an issue with the 1st umbrella I ordered and they sent me a new one right away. They were very helpful and quick. I really appreciate it.

My morning commute starts with me standing in the hot sun waiting for a bus. I bought this umbrella for its sunblocking affect. It does the job very well.The only down side is that it is heavy compared to my other small umbrellas. I can feel the weight in my bag.It also is a bit of a struggle to snap into the open position. But it feels very sturdy once it is open.Overall, I like it, but will continue my search for a more lightweight version.

This umbrella has been great for really blocking out the sun. I used it walking thru the Huntington Gardens during 93 degree heat and during San Diego Comic Con (including the rooftop parties during the day).The Blackout material truly blocks out the heat/UV and it’s noticeably cooler underneath it! It is lightweight, easy to use, and provides a lot of relief from direct sunlight.I gave it to my girlfriend as a gift and she takes it with her everywhere now. I’m definitely going to get another one for myself!

I got this to block sun at Six Flags in 98 degree weather. It worked great all day! Truly cooler in it’s shade! Folded up easily to put in a little backpack when I didn’t want it up. It held up to a pretty good breeze but I did have to close it when it got really windy. Texas weather changes quickly, so I was very happy to have my portable shade when the wind stopped. Plus the white umbrella is easy to spot so the kids never lost me :)

I was expecting it to look stylish like the picture. This product came with no instructions and I spent a good chunk of time wondering what to do with a mysterious yellow ring piece that came with the umbrella. The umbrella had a deeply wrinkled texture. There is a mild slackness to the opened umbrella that doesn't help matters. I decided to tolerate it but if you want something that looks like the picture advertising it, don't get it.

I was very satisfied with this at first! It kept me shaded and caught the breeze, so I was cooler when I had to travel between the buildings for work. But then one day the stick gets stuck, so it wouldn't lock closed any more. Then I fixed it... thought I fixed it, but then it wouldn't open all the way any more. And now finally, when I went to open it, the top completely fell off and I can't put the stick back in! ... I'm a grown woman who only uses this between buildings and it couldn't hold up...I couldn't find a way to contact the seller to see if they can send me a new one, because this one was just faulty, but until they get a hold of me, I would NOT recommend this umbrella to anyone.

Of all the items I packed or purchased on my trip to Turkey & Greece this summer, this was the most valuable to me. When the sun is beating down on you but you want to walk outdoors this umbrella creates your own personal shade wherever you go.

It was just heavy. Given I don't intend to use it for a downpour, I was not expecting it to be so heavy:)
