Best "natural" diapers I've found, next best thing to using cloth.
We used cloth diapers with our son until he reached 13 months old. At that point it became clear that he'd mastered the skill of "holding it" and from time to time would flood his diapers with torrents of pee. Every brand of cloth diaper began to leak, and in exasperation, we made the switch to disposables. We have tried many of the natural brands, including 7th generation, earth's best, honest co, babyganics, and bambo. Of these brands, naty diapers are by far my favorite. They definitely hold much more pee, and are superior at standing up to large amounts of pee at once, which was crucial for us. Additionally, I have noticed that my son seems to get diaper rash less frequently, and it clears up more quickly, when using these diapers. Best of all, I sleep better at night knowing that these bad boys will break down sooner rather than later, and are theoretically commercially compostable. (One of the BEST options for this aside from using cloth diapers would be to use g diapers with the disposable inserts, because they can be composted at home, but these unfortunately, leaked for us)The two major weaknesses of this diaper that we have observed are first, that they really shouldn't be used for overnight, because they will actually burst on the inside if they become too engorged. My poor husband was nearly frightened into calling the consulting nurse until I explained that the gelatinous substance in our son's bm was actually a component of the diaper, and not something he had ingested. The second extremely irritating weakness is poor quality control with their tab application. In almost every pack I have purchased, I have found diapers with tabs missing, applied in the wrong places, or actually sealed inside the diaper. I have never experienced this with any other brand of diaper, even ones that are much cheaper, and am not sure why it is so difficult for this manufacturer to get it right. We have started putting all the "duds" aside, and plan to use them anyway with some tape or something; there are simply too many to just throw them out!I have also tried a few more conventional brands, including pampers, huggies, and luvs. Between ALL brands of diapers, huggies little movers are my favorite for leak protection. These diapers have a far superior waistband and tab closures, and a double gusset so marvelously deep that they put those of the naty diapers to shame. We use the huggies overnights as well and have been happy with them. All that being said, I still love naty for their soft, almost cloth-like feel and earth-friendliness, and will continue to use them when I can, even though the huggies technically work better for stopping leaks.

Very gentle on skin but leaks through outer covering
I love that these diapers don't give my baby boy a rash at all! I really wish I didn't have to rate them lower than 4 stars. However, I did not expect them to leak through the cover. I change his diaper often because he is prone to rashes so this should not be an issue, but it is. Unfortunately it happened with a few diapers, where the outside cover would soak through, wetting his bed and his clothes. In the day I change him as soon as he is wet so this is not a big issue then, but I would like to know that if for any reason I am not able to change his diaper quickly, that his diaper will not leak through like it did those times. The diaper was not even full, yet it was wet on the outside. This means I need a different type of diaper for naps and nighttime if I want to keep using these during the day. I may decide to do this because I am very happy that he has no rashes with these diapers. They are also narrow diapers so definitely go up a size. I had read this on a few reviews so I made sure to buy a size 5 instead of 4 which is what he wears in other diapers. These would definitely be rated 5 stars if they didn't leak through the cover like they sometimes do. Out of one package I had about 4-5 soaked through diapers that were not full.We may have to go back to Earth's best, but those are not as gentle on his skin as these are. However, I never had a leak with those.Overall I think these are OK diapers which could be great!

these diapers have been great! We use them when we leave the house ...
I've spent HOURS researching natural diapers and tried out several different brands. So far, these diapers have been great! We use them when we leave the house (cloth diaper at home) and prefer them over Honest or other "environmentally friendly diapers". In Honest diapers we've had several blowouts, in these we never even came close (*knocks on wood*). Our daughter is only 2.5 months old, but at almost 15lbs these fit her really well (she obviously has some chunk on her thighs). At first I was worried that the size would be too big given the wide range (15-40lbs), but right now they will definitely fit here. I will update this review once we come closer to the top range. She's been wearing these for several hours and the wetness never seems to bother her.I had to deduct one star for two reasons:- the way this diaper feels like tissue paper (the one used for gift bags) on the outside and not as soft as other products on the market.- The other downside is that at first it's hard to figure out which side is the front and the back since there are no prints on the product. But the positives far outweigh the minor negatives that are not that big of a deal once you get used to it!-Made in Sweden (I trust those Europeans more when it comes to the health concerns),-no bleach, no nasty perfumes (I hate the pampers diaper smell)-Price is very reasonable for a quality, natural productIf you care about what goes on your baby's bum, and are looking for an economical, high quality product that doesn't leak, you've found it! Trust me and save yourself reading all the other reviews (I already did that) - these are the diapers I recommend to all my friends!

super product but size gets small very quick
The diaper is as durable, very easy on the handle. You can almost touch and feel the environmentally safe 'ingredients'. We chose this product after so much research because we wanted to buy the most environmentally friendly diaper with natural products instead of the standard gel used by traditional brands such as pampers. We are not giving 5 stars because of the following, we realize that even though size 1 is meant for babies up to 5 kg, it was already too small for our little one at 3,7kg. Due to the fact that it was too tight, our little angel had a skin peel on the inside leg joint (groin). SInce we had bought lots of these diapers we ended up giving away left overs (we only used this size for a little under 3 weeks). We only had 1 leakage although we are not sure if it is the product or the fact that it was not tight enough. Please note that your baby's poo will look very colourful (the diaper is so light that it has an almost see through view) on the diaper immediately. After using the diaper for a year we would still maintain our 4 star rating however we would like to add that during summer hen it gets really hot the diaper peels off outside and may not look very great when that happens. In addition, we have had many poo leaks and pee leaks overnight when it is too full.It seems the diaper cant handle too much liquids. Regardless of this, we will continue using it

Not like they used to be
It has been over 5 years since I used these last but they are very different from how I remember them. I ignored many of the negative reviews because I expected them to be like they used to, but unfortunately most of the criticisms are accurate.Pros: The outside of the nappies have a papery feel. Some people don’t like this but I do as they feel more natural and also don’t dry out my hands like other brands. They also fold out almost completely flat which makes them really easy to position under a wiggling baby’s bottom.Cons: They’re almost as wide as they are long - resulting in too much nappy at the side which you have to scrunch up, but they don’t come high enough to fasten round the waist comfortably so they end up on the hips. The reason they fold out flat is because there is so little stretch in them. The sides are stretchy but there is no stretch across the back so they will leak up the baby’s back if they poo enough to fill them! They’re not as absorbent as other brands and so baby’s bum does feel wet even if there’s only a little wee in the nappy. Finally, the tabs are not that easy to open and do sometimes need a second hand as they pull away part of the bit they’re stuck down to when folded.I may try one of the bigger sizes when baby grows to see if these are just issues with size 1 but until then I’ll be using another brand.

Insomma

Great for the eco feeling. Good for the functionality.
Good fit and no major leaks to speak of. Good tabs with sticky and velcro-type hold for a secure fit. They seem to soak up well but don't offer quite the absorption as the equivalent Pampers. We use Pampers at night for all the wee and during the day if we are away from home for any longer length of time. We use Naty nappies for 2 or 3 changes during the day and to help us feel better about our impact on landfill...Pampers have a great capacity for holding in wee and have a mesh like top coating on the inside. Naty is not quite as big, wee capacity wise, but has held up well to both wee and runny baby poo. A couple of times we have had leaks but this was only due to excessive "poo-namis" that have struck 2-3 times and I don't think anything could have held this in.All in all a good product but I do tend to favour Pampers for security. Naty are great for the eco vibe and general use if you know you don't need them to hold a full nights "output".

How important is it to use natural nappies on our children?
In one word, Essential. We have been using these nappies on our daughter since she was 1 year old and they have been great, we have never looked back. We used to use washable nappies but that did not work for us. After lots of research we decided to go for Naty and we have no regrets whatsoever. The price is very close to popular nappy brands and you don't get any of the nasty chemicals the big brands use (which they should be ashamed of).Naty by nature use Corn based materials for absorption and leak protection which is also GM free (not genetically modified which is harmful). The nappies are very comfortable on our child, she has never complained of any leaks or itching. The sticky tabs are just the right amount of sticky and hold the nappy together tightly. Taking the tabs off and putting them back on still works fine, the tabs do stay strong. My daughter jumps about all over the place with these on. Another great thing about these nappies is how good they are for the environment compared to the big brands. Naty use natural, renewable and biodegradable materials so if saving the environment is your thing then this is another bonus. In my research I found the chemicals in other nappy brands are very harmful especially to children as they are developing and more vulnerable than adults. We have the responsibility to provide the best for our children so I would happily recommend this, it's a beautiful product. If you found this review helpful, please click on the link below.
