Accessory Power DC Charger for Magellan RoadMate 3030LM , 5045-LM and More GPS Devices

Cord too short for me... and I do not have a very large car.For me, the cord was way too short to reach from a power adapter on the dashboard to a the windscreen where one would normally mount a GPS. The cord length states 3 feet in the product description, but that I guess that is the 'uncoiled' (stretched out) length. At that extreem uncoiled length that you need to have the cord, it places way too much side-load tension on the 'power in' port on the GPS and I fear will at some point break the power port. The tension is so taunt that it sometime pulls the GPS suction mount off the windscreen.That said, it did power up my GPS. If this cord lenght can work for you, then it is a low cost charger replacement. I sent mine back due tothe cord length issue, so I cannot comment on long term durability other than it did power up and operate my Magellan GPS.Jim

The replacement charger for my Magellan works fine but it would be perfect if the end I plug into my Magellan had a little tighter fit. I have to use a rubber band to keep it hooked to my Magellan while I am driving. I guess I could try to tighten it with a pair of pliers but I did not want to take the chance of breaking it. I like it better than the charger that came with the Magellan because it has a spiral cord to enable the cord to be turned and twisted without any damage to the wires. Arrived in a timely manner in excellent condition.

Fixed the gps not coming on. In that aspect it is great. The curly cord is very annoying and causes the gps to fall off windshield at times. I had the cord completely stretched though due to distance to power outlet. i bought a power outlet extension which seemed to fix problem, but the curly cord is still "ugly" in my opinion.

My mom's original charging cable for her Magellan Maestro 3210 was broken when someone stepped on it. She went to replace it with one from Radio Shack or something. It didn't work at all. So I told her she should just get a new GPS since this one was old anyway. She refused, saying how much she likes this model - so I came on Amazon and found this thing for $6. Shipped it directly to her house and upon checking with her, her response was: "Oh it's great, I've been using it." So, for $6 plus a few for shipping, how can you really go wrong?

I was looking for a car charger for my Magellen Roadmate 1700. Accessory Genie advertised that this power cord would work. I ordered the cord, waited patiently to recieve it, and received my plug, but found that the plug was not going to fit my Roadmate. I contacted Customer Service. The rep was nice and said she would look into it and get back to me in 24 hours. She did in fact get back to me. She said after testing my claim in the lab, they agree that the adapter would not fit my Roadmate. She referred the issue to marketing to have the 1700 unlisted as a fit, she sent me an RMA, and directions on returning the charger. It was much ado. I had to go somewhere else for the charger. I'm still waiting for my refund and expecting to see a refund on the shipping as well; since this should have never been an option. They even asked for their free gift (lens cleaning cloth) back.

Purchased this after losing the original cable to my GPS. It arrived as promised but I didn't use it for a month until going on a trip. It lasted halfway through and then started working intermittently. I would have to jiggle the cable ends and then the cable itself to get continuous power. Then it quit altogether. Emailed the seller who was very polite and sincere, but could they not replace it since I had waited to use it past their return period. They sent me contact information on the manufacturer, but I never heard back from them.

This works just like the original charger/car cord. The only difference, that wasn't mentioned in the description, was that this has a coiled cord, which I didn't think I would like, but it actually works just fine.

Ordered as a replacement for my oridinal equipment that came with magellan. Works great and my wife is now happy that she does not periodically lose power when navigating the city!
