Don't be afraid
This solenoid was a perfect fit for my Monaco motor home. They wanted almost 2X this price at the local RV shop, and I installed it myself in about 30 minutes. These solenoids are used in many places, not just for starting. Mine was for the 12 volt system inside my coach. Almost all of the small (I call them throwaways) lightweight switches inside boats and motor homes that actually control bigger things than house lights will go through a solenoid like this one. The heavy leads go to the large posts, and the smaller leads go to that lightweight switch and to a good ground.

It isn't strong enough for the purposed I bought it ...
It isn't strong enough for the purposed I bought it for so I will be saving it to use for something else. Nothing wrong with it, just not what I needed for this use.

12V control
The control voltage is 12 volts. That's the wires that connect to the smaller posts. I hooked 36 volts to the large lugs to be controlled. Used it on an old Harley Davidson golf cart. Works like a charm.

Continuous Duty Solenoid
Solenoid is used in a RV battery center to connect the starting battery to the house batteries as needed. This is a replacement for the original from 2004. The replacement worked as it should.
