Not bitter at all. Adding nothing else to it since it tastes fine to me.

I suffer from a condition akin to Parkinson's Disease. It causes my head to tremble or pull to the left side. For 2 decades I've undergone every 3 month cycles of botox injections to neutralize the overactive neck muscles responsible. So, over the course of 20 years, I've been on somewhat of a perennial quest to identify a single panacea so as to avoid having to take too many supplements in an effort to quell my ailment. A single supplement approach is also very cost effective. I also prefer to take food based supplements over those that contain fillers and non nutritive ingredients. It is for all these reasons and more that I bought this particular product (though through another online seller) after viewing a youtube video posted by someone with the same medical condition who claimed reishi banished his symptoms. Indeed! Soon after trying the product my spasms began to abate. I was astounded. However, after a week or so of taking it by mixing a teaspoon of powder in a cup of hot water the spasms resumed and I began to find this product unpalatable. (It's kind of bitter.) Consequently, it was cast to the back of the fridge. Fast forward to 6 months later-- where a summertime smoothie craving took hold. Guess what I began to blend into my smoothies?? So, after an entire summer of sipping smoothies (with a sprinkle of reishi) I checked in with my neurologist who found my spasming was virtually non-existent. More specifically, the large muscle on the right side of my neck did not need to be injected!!!! I said nothing to the doc, but I can only attribute this good news to reishi. Otherwise, maybe a kind of synergy occurred between the 4 things recently added to my regimen. The combo: blueberries, blackberries (in my smoothies) a daily dose of hemp seed oil, and my Garden of Life vitamin powder. There is nothing else I can think of that would account for my sudden and drastic improvement. I intend to continue taking this product even if only for general over all health.

This is a difficult review because I am sure some folks will not believe my experience with Terrasoul's Red Reishi Mushroom Powder. Here goes:I suffer from fibromaylgia and was recently diagnosed with COPD. For 10 years I was confined to a reclining chair. I was so low functioning that my husband literally had to do everything for me. I was under a medical doctor's care and there just did not seem to be much hope for getting me back on my feet. After a few years, we were becoming absolutely desperate. My husband has always been interested in other options for medical care. Over the years we have used homeopathic and ayurvedic doctors and medicine with good results. Nothing seemed to work so my husband starting researching more and more of the traditional Chinese medicine. To make a long story short, he started us both (he suffers from CFS) on the medicinal mushrooms. After 10 years, I am on my feet and a fuly functioning human being. People are amazed at how well I recovered. I took both Red Reishi and Chaga (in a tea) for about 5 months when I began really gaining strength. I can honestly say that I am stronger today than I have been in 20 years or so. I recommend this product highly!

The media could not be loaded. I was interested in reishi after being suggested Organo’s king coffee with reishi spores. I wasn’t feeling up for the MLM, so I tried this instead. I know this one isn’t the spores, but it’s at a good price. This may be my gateway into mushroom adaptogens! I like how it makes me feel (possibly placebo?). It tastes like black tea - tart and bitter. Mix it with some honey and it’s great!In regards to packaging, I had to move the product to a mason jar because the bag would explode my countertop with reishi powder every time I opened the bag. It also clumps a lot, and takes significant effort to break up the clumps. Would still buy again.

So far so good... I bought this reishi powder as part of a natural approach to my infertility struggle, and was really expecting it to taste horrible because, lets be honest, most chinese herbs I have taken taste like dirt. I have been using 1 teaspoon every morning for 5 days now, and while I am not magically pregnant (lol), I have noticed some positive side effects. My mood has been much more stable and calm than it has been in several years. I find myself not getting easily agitated over little things that used to annoy me (part of my hormonal imbalance is terrible mood swings). I have actually woken up without a groggy reluctant to get out of bed feeling, and have been going to sleep easily without a struggle. Time will tell if this helps with excess androgens in my body, but I am definitely feeling better every day while using it. I hear you can add it to all kinds of things like soups and smoothies and whatnot, but I fear a hot soup might damage any nutritional properties (not scientifically sure so dont quote me!) and a smoothie with mushroom powder does not sound up my alley at all. My preference has been to mix 1 tsp powder with a little hot water from my culligan dispenser to make a paste and get it all mixed well, and then add a little more water to make a thin gravy. Just shoot it back and follow up with your healthy morning breakfast. I dont mind the taste, its just a rich umami flavor and not really bitter at all, but I like umami and earthy flavors and eat a clean diet anyhow so this is the perfect way to enjoy it for me. Try it, reap the many benefits! I hope I can post an update soon that this has helped my hormonal balance! :)
